Your task in this exercise is to compose a text in the mode of ainos that offers encoded moral exhortation on an
imagined life-or-death ordeal that you could go through.
The ainos that you compose needs to reveal its message about moral decision-making to members of your close-knit social group, while concealing it from others. It should be expressed in a way that insiders of that social group would understand while outsiders would not. As noted already, we are familiar with the practice of openly giving away the moral of the story at the end of a fable, but ainos doesnt necessarily spell it out so plainly.

In terms of positive requirements, then, the ainos that you compose needs to exhibit the following features:
It must encode a message about your imagined personal ordeal.More specifically, it must shed light on the process of moral decision-making at work in your ordeal.Even more specifically, it must offer commentary or exhortation on the question of the price of a life, of being willing   to or having to die in exchange for what, if anything? It needs to carry the right message for those who are qualified and a wrong message (or at least no message) for
those who are unqualified. In terms of perspective, it needs to be told by one member of your chosen group to one or more other members; the
exact configuration, and whether your own character plays the role of the teller, a hearer, or neither, is up to you.As with the lament, the text that you submit should contain a story-frame that frames the words that comprise the
ainos, and it should again be set at least ten years forward from the current moment in your life.In order to enable your TF to grade your ainos properly, you also need to use footnotes or another form of annotation
to (A) identify the features above and (B) give any necessary explanation or background information. The target length for this exercise, including both the ainos and the accompanying notes, is 500750 words.
