In what ways is hegemony promoted?
In your critical analysis, comment on social norms and/or language. Use specific examples from the ways in which women and girls are portrayed by the Disney Corporation, or in fairy tales in general. Here are some questions to get you thinking critically. You are not required to answer all of them (some might not even apply to what you are analyzing), and you may include ideas not considered here.

Are women and girls portrayed in a positive or negative way?
Are women and girls portrayed as powerful or powerless?
Are women and girls portrayed as helpless or independent?
What roles are do women and girls enact? What roles do men and boys enact? How do these roles promote stereotypes?
What language is used to characterize or qualify women and girls? What language is used to characterize or qualify men and boys?
Is there a difference in the language used by female and male characters? What do the differences suggest?
