Enemy Combatants

Remember that 9/11 just occurred – incorporate that mindset into this assignment.

•Should U.S. Citizens who are declared to be “Enemy Combatants” be able to contest (argue) their detention before a Judge? (combatant = someone or some nation/state engaged in conflict).  Basically, should enemy combatants have Constitutional rights?  First, you need to know who is considered an enemy combatant, and second, realize it is our Constitutional right as humans on American soil to receive our rights.
•State your opinion first before doing research.
•Define enemy combatant in a larger way other than “bad person” to show me you understand what it means.
•Using specific Court case(s) on this issue, show you did research.
•Tell me what both sides of the argument think the answer or solution should be and why.  (There are differing opinions)
•Tell me your opinion after learning more about it.
•Incorporate the Writ of Habeas Corpus into your work since this is a major point of this assignment.  Don’t understand it?  Look it up
•Showing research is important, but most of the work should be your own.
Minimum 3 full pages not including citations or cover page.

•Find your own also, it’s out there!
