As you may know, Governor Greg Abbott signed an executive order preventing any state-run institution (or institution that gets money from the state) from imposing mandatory mask or vaccine mandates. Governor Abbott did not outlaw masks, his order said you cannot require them. This executive order does not apply to private business, however. Nevertheless, mayors, county officials, and school districts have felt the governor’s action has put people and children at risk, and the Governor has taken all their authority away to try to manage the pandemic. This has led to lawsuits across the state, and now that hospitals ICUs across the state are being inundated with Covid patients, local officials have just decided to ignore the Governor’s orders. Despite all of this, Governor Abbott still believes masks wearing and vaccine mandates should be one’s personal choice and not something imposed by any government.
What are your thoughts? Which government official do you believe should make Covid policy? Local officials like school board members, county or city officials, or statewide leaders like the Governor or the state legislature? Do you believe that local officials should have the authority to go against the Governor’s orders? Do the disagreements regarding Covid (and other issues as well) give you more, or less, faith in federalism (having multiple levels of government who create policy)?

I completely disagree on the hasty decision made based on his point(Governor Greg Abbott) of view and beliefs.
