1)  Given what you have learned about theactivities of the Enlightenment philosophes (thinkers), lets go back to Kantsarticle.  He said of himself that he did not think he was living in an”enlightened age,” but rather, in an “age ofenlightenment.”  He meant that he did not think everyone in his timewas enlightened, but that it was an age when people were becoming enlightened.  What tools did people haveavailable to them in the 18th century that they could use in their quest forenlightenment?  Name your sources (assignedclass materials only!) and/or use a brief parenthetical citation.  You mayalso offer an educated guess about these tools – give it some thought. TheKant article makes an effort to define what it means to be enlightened (ornot), and it allows insight into Kant’s opinion about the role of anenlightened individual within a larger society.  Please read the wholething, paying especially close attention to the first part.
2)  Do you think we, today, are living inan enlightened age?  An age of enlightenment?  Neither orboth?  Give your opinion and then list the tools we have available to ustoday.  No source citation isneeded when discussing today’s tools – use your own experience and give it somethought.
3)  Pick one of the six 18th c. philosophes weve coveredand imagine that they had a Twitter account, and write a pretend tweet that might have come fromthem.  Put their name in it.
