Morespecifically, pick a topic that might falls under any of the chapters that welearned about as part of this class and discuss its important role in eitherthe organization or in society.If you are more interested in the latter (marketing’s role or influencein society), feel free to expand to discuss corporate social responsibility orethics. This is a particularlyinteresting area of research and there are fruitful opportunities to learnabout the topic.I am very open to specific topics to these overarching themes. If you want to email me to check on yourtopic, please feel free to do so. Theidea is that your paper will discuss how marketing (or certain aspects ofmarketing) plays an important role today within the organization or within society. This must be addressed in the paper insome manner. This role may be positiveor negative.The paper is due by11:59 p.m. on July 7.. Late papers will not be accepted.Critical Components of the Paper1)Makesure you demonstrate a clear understanding of the topic you are researching.2)Integratethe existing literature on the topic into your paper. Although it’s fine to pull quotes from theliterature, do not overdo this. This isyour work. And make sure you cite thequotes appropriately. Too many quotes can trigger plagiarism. (See more on thisbelow.)3)Asyou discuss this paper, consider the following: Why is this topicimportant? Use critical analysis andcritical thought. Do not justsummarize. Analysis, synthesize andextend the information that is out there.Explain how your paper contributes to what is known about the topic.4)Thepaper should be between 12 and 15 pages double-spaced with 12 point type andwith normal margins. Do NOT put extra space between paragraphs. Please include a bibliography (this counts withinthe 12-15 pages) with a minimum of 8references, and the paper must be referenced properly. You may use any style (e.g., APA) youwish. But you must pick an acceptablestyle and use it properly. Feel free to include any tables or graphs or to supportyour work.5)Proofreadyour paper carefully. You will losepoints for significant grammatical and typographical errors. Again, feel freeto utilize the UNLV writing center.6)Plagiarismwill not be tolerated. That means youcannot lift paragraphs from any articles, websites, or any other publishedmaterials, etc. This paper must be your own work in its entirety. The paper will beanalyzed through Turnitin.com. If thereis more than 18% overlap with other sources not properly cited, your paper willbe subject to careful scrutiny and will be considered plagiarized (you willreceive the report if any wrongdoing is identified). Based on the Turnitin report and othermethods for plagiarism detection, any plagiarized papers will receive a gradeof zero and appropriate action will be taken at the university (see theuniversity policies). This includesself-plagiarism. Simply put, do your own work.
