After reading the assigned chapter and the corresponding lecture presentation, discuss and describe a case of a company, applying and analyzing the key concept/s of the chapter. For example, in Module 2 the assigned chapter is Chapter 2 –Markets and Competitive Space. A relevant case study can be presented in discussing and analyzing how Subway positioned itself as a “healthy fast food company” instead of the “best sandwich company” by taking into account the changing consumer values towards a healthier lifestyle as well as consumer need for convenience and speed. By changing its category from sandwich restaurants to fast food restaurants, Subway ended up competing with a much larger market –the fast food industry instead of the sandwich restaurant industry. One could discuss and evaluate Subway’s marketing strategy vis-a-vis competition and issues that it is facing today in the evolving fast food market.
       In the case study assignment, one needs to write a case that pertains to the key ideas and frameworks in assigned chapters 
       The case should be developed on a single company
       Each of the five mini-cases should be based on five different companies
       It is important that the chapter concepts and frameworks are clearly identifiable in the case
       Also, theoretical discussion of the chapter concepts and frameworks will add to the clarity in the case discussion. 
       An ideal case should demonstrate theoretical knowledge of the chapter concepts/frameworks and appropriate application of the concepts/frameworks to the company case, i.e., demonstrate a good understanding of theory and practical knowledge.
