This topic choice will be your focus for the upcoming essay, bibliography, and PowerPoint projects, so choose a topic you care about. 

Include the following in your paragraph: 

• Identify which topic you have chosen from the two you proposed in this week’s discussion.
• Explain why you want to research and write about this topic.
• Talk about what your argument is and why you feel the way you do.
• Give your thesis statement or main point you would like to argue.

Important Note: A thesis cannot be a question because it is a statement of your stance on an issue. Here is an example of a thesis statement about screen time: “Parents should limit screen time for young children to under an hour per day to try to prevent future problems with mood disorders and behavior problems.” Notice how this is an argumentative statement that includes the why behind the opinion.
